The Spokane Journal of Business is the Inland Northwest’s premier resource for business news and information. The Journal has been published bi-weekly, 26 times a year, since 1986. Today, the Spokane Journal of Business has more than 40,000 readers, thriving in a time when many newspapers are dying. This success is largely due to a talented and forward-thinking leadership team at the Journal of Business. The staff at the Journal is constantly improving and evolving its product offering, providing its subscribers with ever increasing value.

The current website had served the Journal very well but it was nearly 5 years old and lacked good compatibility for phones, tablets, and other devices that subscribers were using to access the site. In addition to providing adequate support for mobile devices, the Journal also had a number of other wish list items ranging from adding, showing, and tracking advertisements to streamlining the e-commerce purchase process that its wanted to tackle with the new website.

Squeezing all of this functionality into one easy to use website was no small job. To successfully complete this project, Zipline Interactive (previous employer) worked through a detailed consulting process with the team at the Journal of Business. Using website analytics, subscriber input, and other analysis methods, our teams worked to plan and design a new website that offers a best-in-class experience to Journal subscribers.

So far the new website has been a hit. Since its launch, the Journal of Business has seen a substantial increase in both engagement and traffic.
